I like this book a lot because I think Swami Vishnu-Devananda gives a short and to the point yet comprehensive introduction to different styles of mediation and mantras. Lots of very practical guidelines how to build a mediation practice and how to incorporate mantras.

I liked this book a lot because David has a talent to explain complex things in an understandable way. The illustrations are great and helped me to understand the key concepts of anatomy much better compared to other anatomy books I bought. Most importantly, the section on how to apply human anatomy in practicing and teaching yoga was very helpful. Click on image for more details.

Practicing handstands for me has a lot do to with focusing on the breath, being fully present, cultivating a sense of lightness and at the same time being alert and energized. It has also taught me to be patient, persistent, to accept failure and to approach my practice with a sense of kindness and playfulness instead of pushing myself towards achievement.
